Why Piano Moving Takes a Specialist
From the outside, a piano looks like one solid object. Inside, it is a finely balanced instrument with thousands of parts under tremendous tension. A single grand piano can hold around twenty tons of combined string tension, and its weight is distributed in a way that makes it awkward and unforgiving to lift. Move it wrong and you risk damaging the cabinet, knocking it out of tune, cracking the soundboard, or hurting someone.
That is why general movers either refuse pianos or charge a premium and hope for the best. Piano moving is its own craft. It takes the right equipment, a piano board or skid, proper straps, padding, and a dolly built for the load, and it takes crews who have done it enough times to read a tight staircase or a narrow doorway before it becomes a problem.

How We Move a Piano Safely
Every piano move starts with a plan. Before we lift anything, we look at the piano, the path out, and the path into the new home, the doorways, the turns, the stairs, and the floors. Knowing the obstacles ahead of time is half of what keeps a move smooth.
From there we protect the instrument. The piano is wrapped in heavy padding, and for grands we carefully remove the legs and lyre and secure it on a padded piano board. Then it is strapped, balanced, and moved with the right dolly and enough trained hands to control it at every step. We protect your home too, using floor runners and door protection so the walls and floors come through untouched.
Stairs are where experience matters most, and we take them slowly and deliberately, with the crew and equipment to keep the piano and everyone around it safe. Once it is in place, we set it exactly where you want it.
